HAZELNUT KERNELS

(Corylus avellana)

Hazelnut is the nut of the hazel, deriving from the Corylus species. Hazelnuts are rich in protein, vitamin E, and numerous other essential nutrients.

The kernel is edible and used raw or roasted, or ground into a paste.
Hazelnuts are used in confectionery to make pralines, and are extensively used in combination with chocolate products.
